There are many free activities available to families in Hamilton on a regular basis, but they are not always well advertised. Take a look - we're sure you'll find something that your family will enjoy.

The Hamilton Cardinals Intercounty Baseball team that plays at Bernie Arbour Stadium at Mohawk and Upper Kenilworth. Children under 12 get free admission to the games. The season begin may 8th! See website for more details and schedule information.

Peoples Community Sports Program offers free indoor and outdoor soccer and basketball all year round. This program is for children ages 4-11 at any skill level. The intention is to make the league accessible to families of all income levels, especially those that may not otherwise be able to afford an organized sports league. All Summer long registered kids can bowl 2 free games each day, no strings attached. Program is offered at the Hamilton and Burlington locations. See website for registration details.

The Hamilton Rec Centres are offering free drop in programs through the city at various times during the week. Some of these programs include indoor and outdoor swimming, family gym time and youth basketball. Click on the link for times and locations.

Get Free admission to all of the Hamilton Civic Museums when you show your library card. Note that all family members must have a card in order to qualify.

 

Home Depot offers a Kids Do It Yourself Workshop.

Pre Registration is not required. They supply the aprons, tools and materials required to build the project. Added bonus is the kids get a pin to put on their apron for each project they complete.

Michael's is offering free in store craft demonstrations in addition to their paid craft sessions. They also offer a craft program on Satudays mornings for $2 per child. Click on the link for all the details.

The Art Gallery of Hamilton offers free admission to theLEVEL 2 galleries each and everyday to anyone. They also offer Friday Free Night, an opportunity for members of the public to enjoy GALLERY LEVEL ONE exhibitions at no charge, courtesy of ORLICK Industries Ltd. Friday Free Night is on the first Friday of each month from 4:00 - 8:00 pm (Holiday Fridays* are 12:00 - 5:00 pm). Every Sunday from 1-4pm the Aviary offers free tours to the public of the indoor and outdoor areas. Donations are accepted on site.

The Summer Reading Club may be over for another year, but your local library still has loads of free family activities to enjoy all year round!  From movies, storytime, lego building, and everything in between, the library will help keep your family entertained when the chilly days start to arrive!
